Project Overview

We had a discussion with Simon, and we decided to help him with the box because we think that doing this box will not be too hard and we can even have a project to work on. I worked on this project with both Noah and Anson, we worked together and which help to finish it faster.

Project Stages

Assessment and Measurement

My first stage in doing this project was:

1. Having discussion with Simon

2. 3D design drawing

3. Find the wood that are suitable

The first point is the most important part for me because I think without the design, it will be really difficult to start with the project, we have put a lot of details on the design drawing, so we can easily start making the project.

Cut the wood into each sizes

After we done with the design drawing, we started cut the wood by looking at our design drawing, we need different dizes of wood, and we have spent lots of time on this part.

Grind the wood

When cutting the wood, we are doing by ourselves and using the machine. However, we cannot make sure that the wood are not smooth.

Assembly

We assembled the wood modules by using screws and also superglue to make sure it is strong enough. Everything works well!

Skills Acquired

In this big project, I learned about how to make a handmade box, and how to choose the right materials that are comfort for the vinyl box. I also learned about how to work like a team, it is so important that it makes all the process much easier and fun!
